Today’s Scripture

“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias
the prophet, saying, Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities,
and bare our sicknesses”

(Matthew 8:17)
“Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted”

(Isaiah 53:4)

Jesus Took Your Sickness

Dear One,

Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses.  Since He bore them, took them — why should you bear them — take them?  Isaiah 53:4 says — “Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”  In the Hebrew, the words “griefs” and “sorrows” mean sicknesses and pains.  So Jesus bore your sicknesses and carried your pains.  That’s the same thing as saying — “… Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17). Another reference in the New Testament is 1 Peter 2:24 — “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.”
The Bible says — “In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established” (Matthew 18:16).
I’ve given you three references right here.  So settle it in your mind and heart once and for all that God wants you healed just as much as He wants you saved.  God has provided for you to be healed physically, emotionally, mentally, financially — just as much as He has provided for you to be born again — to receive the remission of sins and become a new creature in Christ Jesus.
