Today’s Scripture

“So we see that they could not enter in
because of unbelief”

Never Miss God’s Best

Dear One,
Doubt, worry, and unbelief rob you of the greatest blessings God expects for you.  Doubt, worry, and unbelief block you — invite you to receive way less than God’s best.  Look at this great example in the Bible —

“And at 3 o’clock in the morning Jesus knew they were in trouble, because they were rowing furiously — and He went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, ‘It is a spirit;’ and they cried out for fear.  But straightway Jesus spoke to them, saying — ‘Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.’ And Peter answered Him saying — ‘LORD, if it be You, bid me come to You on the water. And He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.  But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, ‘LORD, save me.’ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said to him,
O you of little faith, when did you doubt?”
 (Matthew 14:25-31)

For Peter, the LORD stepped in and did exactly what Peter asked!  By Jesus’ divine sovereignty, Peter walked on water, and He kept Peter from sinking.  Yet Peter still missed the very best that God had for him.  Notice — Jesus rebuked Peter in verse 31 saying — “O you of little faith, when did you doubt?”  Jesus was saying — “When did all of you doubt — why did all of you doubt — ?”
Yes, it was when they were all rowing furiously!  Jesus had told His disciples earlier in the evening to get in the boat and go to the other side of the sea!  Doubt began when the storm rose up and they were all fearfully rowing furiously!  Doubt, and fear robbed Peter and all the disciples of the very best that God had for them.
Yes, Peter’s life was saved from sinking as he tried walking on water, but Peter missed God’s best.
God said this to me this way — “ROSE, get in the boat … stay in the boat … rest in the boat … go to the other side — I am with You.”
